CANDIDA K. NICHOLS
Resident Artist
Candida K. Nichols is a freelance costume designer,
photographer and aspiring children’s book author, based in New York
City. She holds an MFA in Theatrical Design from The University of
Texas at Austin and is a recipient of the Roy Crane Award for
Outstanding Creative Achievement in the Performing Arts.
Candida has worked in dance, theater, film, and opera. Her recent
credits include work with the Perseverance Theater, the National Asian
American Theater Company, Gotham Chamber Opera, Tuacahn, Handcart
Ensemble, the Nerve Tank, and Williams College. She has worked with
choreographers such as Terry Creech, Sydney Skybetter and Ofelia Loret
de Mola. Candida was the Associate Costume Designer over International
Costumes (over 800) for "Light of the World", a cultural event held
during the 2002 Winter Olympics. In the spring of 2007 she presented
her first photographic exhibit at the Cohen New Works Festival, By the
Hand of Mother, about women and children based on texts of dramatic
literature and opera. Candida has been a guest artist at Brigham Young
